What to see near the B&B
Just a few kilometers from the B&B, you’ll find some of the most beautiful sandy beaches on Elba’s western coast, such as Procchio and Marina di Campo — wide, well-equipped, and ideal for families. There are also smaller, more intimate coves like La Paolina and Spartaia, full of charm and atmosphere.
Heading inland, you’ll reach the characteristic villages of Poggio and Marciana, the latter being the starting point of the cable car to Mount Capanne, the island’s highest peak, offering breathtaking views.
Among the most scenic spots in the area are also the beaches of Sant’Andrea and Cotoncello, known for their beauty and spectacular sunsets.
Just a few meters from the B&B, there is also a bus stop — a convenient way to explore the island’s main destinations without using a car.
The location of B&B Capo al Piano allows guests to quickly access the extensive network of hiking trails that crisscross Elba Island — a must for trekking enthusiasts.
The Grande Traversata Elbana (GTE) is one of the island’s most iconic routes. It stretches from Cavo to Pomonte along the island’s mountain ridges, offering panoramic views, forests, valleys, and paths overlooking the sea.
Given its length and elevation gain, the GTE is best tackled in multiple stages, allowing hikers to fully enjoy the island’s landscapes, colors, and scents without excessive fatigue.
B&B Capo al Piano is listed in the official guide to the Grande Traversata Elbana (GTE) as a rest stop, providing a comfortable and welcoming break for those walking the route.
If bus schedules are not compatible, a shuttle service is available to reach the B&B.
